Olaniyi Areke, President/CEO of Majestic Pictures, LLC., is an Emmy Award winning filmmaker who has experience in all aspects of video and film production. He has written, produced, directed, shot, and edited several video and film projects in the last 32 years.

He was part of a management team that Howard University brought in 1997 to revitalize WHUT-TV, Washington, D.C. As the former Director of Student Training at WHUT, Olaniyi oversaw training of students in all areas of television for twelve years.

Olaniyi served for three years on the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Washington, D.C. Chapter.  He was a co-Chair for the highly successful 2001 Silver Circle. Full Bio

 

Sowbhagyalakshmi Areke, the COO of Majestic Pictures, has written, produced, directed, and edited several video and film projects for the past 25 years.  Her short film entitled “Out of Tune” that she wrote and directed was shown at the Kennedy Center, Washington, DC, and her feature documentary “Spouse Abuse: A Global Perspective” is in the libraries of over 200 universities and non-profit organizations across the nation.

Areke is a recipient of the NATPE Faculty Development Fellowship, UFVA/Kodak Scholarship, Eddie Murphy/Paramount Pictures Creative Writing Award, and honorable mention at Paul Robeson Award. She has served on the Maryland State Arts Council grants panel for two years and on the Emmy Awards jury panel for three years. Full Bio
