Olaniyi Areke, CEO of Majestic Pictures LLC, has extensive experience in all aspects of film and video production for over 30 years.  His awards include Emmy Award for his documentary “Descendants,” Princess Grace Statue Award and Honorable Mention at the Black Filmmakers’ Hall of Fame for dramatic feature film “Disillusion,” Paul Robeson Award for short film “When Innocent is Guilty,” and Eddie Murphy/Paramount Pictures Creative Writing Award for feature screenplay “Iwa Ni e Wo.”  Full Bio

 

Sowbhagyalakshmi Areke, the COO of majestic Pictures, is a filmmaker/professor who has a broad production and teaching experience in television and filmmaking from inception to completion for the past 20 years. Areke is a recipient of the NATPE Faculty Development Fellowship, UFVA/Kodak Scholarship, Eddie Murphy/Paramount Pictures Creative Writing Award, and honorable mention at Paul Robeson Award. She has served on the Maryland State Arts Council grants panel, and the Emmy Awards jury panel. Full Bio
