Olaniyi Areke, CEO of Majestic Pictures LLC, has extensive experience in all aspects of film and video production for over 30 years.  His awards include Emmy Award for his documentary “Descendants,” Princess Grace Statue Award and Honorable Mention at the Black Filmmakers’ Hall of Fame for dramatic feature film “Disillusion,” Paul Robeson Award for short film “When Innocent is Guilty,” and Eddie Murphy/Paramount Pictures Creative Writing Award for feature screenplay “Iwa Ni e Wo.” 

Areke is a recipient of the prestigious the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Fellowship, and NATPE Faculty Fellowship. He has served as a co-chair for Silver Circle and on the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Chesapeake Bay Chapter. 

He received his B.A. in Broadcast Production (Summa Cum Laude) and MFA in Film from Howard University. He has taught digital video and film courses at several reputable educational institutions in Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Delaware.

Currently, he serves as the Program Coordinator for Digital Media Production at College of Southern Maryland.
